Bon Voyage

Twice a year the world stops as the four greatest fashion destinations take the stage. Each show brings new stories, new legendary moments, and new styles. As an avid front row lover I always find my greatest inspiration from the fashion leaders themselves. As runway shows debut around the European map, my eyes couldn’t help but catch the highlights from each of these separate destinations.

During London fashion week the cold weather brought out many fur embellished trench coats and opaque leggings. Among my favorite, Alexa Chung, who always manages to maintain effortlessly chic, was found departing from fashion show to fashion show with everything from jean wear to a boyfriend blazers enseble. Often accompanying Alexa is her socialite, Pixie who always pulls off a goth glam look. One of my favorites was her denim tank with black tights and military inspired boots that she wore at the show. As much as I hate to admit it, I also liked Olivia Palermo green printed puff sleeve jacket worn at the show.

Paris was also no exception, where many of our familiar front rowers wore black liquid tights and blazer. For the first time in fashion week history the Chanel show turned their runway into a winter wonderland with an ice berg shipped in. Leigh Lezark who is always one of my favorites, wore a gray jumpsuit over lace camisole to one the show.

Milan, which is home to some of the most fun and eclectic designers had a lot of great style. Carine Roitfeld’s daughter was also one of my favorite with a cute little cocktail dress she wore to a fashion week party. Among other trends were full fur coats which is often worn in Milan. Overall this fashion week was great both on and off the runway and I can’t wait to see what’s to come for next season.

Dear Academy

The Oscars have always been the place where Hollywood can turn their red carpet into a runway. Although it is great to see our favorite actresses and actors be honored, we can’t help but ask those four vital questions, “Who (or what) are you wearing?”. This year prove to be no exception, we seen everything from Prada to Givenchy, and some designs looked as if they were practically snatched off the runway. So, after several ohh’s and oh-no’s, I was finally able to decide on some favorites. Each of the actresses represented my favorites for different reasons, some because I fell in love with their gowns, and others weren’t necessarily my favorite, but I still appreciated their ability to dress outside the box. I believe fashion should never be about following rules, yet it should be about individuality. So whether you liked what they wore or not im sure we can agree that they were anything but safe. As an added bonus, I also wanted to show some pictures I got of these Oscar actresses during fashion weeks.
